There are many applications where thermo oxidation is used to disinfect or clean. Ozone can do the same job as thermo oxidation, but with the advantage of working in cold environments, this provides savings in energy & money.

Ozone, (O3), sometimes called “activated oxygen”, contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms we normally breathe. Ozone is the second most powerful sterilizer in the world and can be used to destroy bacteria, viruses and odours.

The third oxygen atom of ozone makes it extremely reactive. This atom readily attaches itself to other odour molecules. When contaminants such as odours, bacteria or viruses make contact with ozone, their chemical structure is changed to less odorous compounds. As more ozone attacks the remaining compounds, the odour is eventually destroyed. This process is called oxidation. Ozone essentially reverts back to oxygen after it is used. This makes it a very environmentally friendly oxidant.

Ozone is safe if used correctly. However, high concentrations of ozone can cause health problems if proper safety measures are not taken.

Ozone kills microorganisms (virus, bacterias, mould, fungi) by destroying the cell wall. Once the cell wall is destroyed, the microorganisms will be unable to survive.

No. There are no scientific studies proving that ozone gas causes permanent damage to human health.Ozone gas has entered our lives in medical and industrial fields for the last 30 years, but ozone gas is a known molecule for 200 years. For this reason, many researches and scientific studies have been conducted on ozone gas. International organizations such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have set ozone gas limits.Side effects such as burning in the eyes and nose, headache, sore throat, nausea can be observed in the case of 8 hours of exposure to ozone gas at 0.1 PPM. However, none of these side effects is permanent.As Ozcon, we recommend the use of ozone measurement and control systems to avoid any undesirable problems in ozone applications to be made in production areas.

Measuring ozone gas is extremely important, especially in industrial applications. As we have emphasized in every project, “We cannot manage what we do not measure”. We are obliged to follow our generators with ozone measurement sensors that control the ozone gas concentration 24/7 in order to control the ozone gas, which is an extremely aggressive gas, to give the area in a dosage suitable for the prescription, to provide maximum efficiency from the ozone gas and to minimize the corrosive effect of the ozone gas.Ozone monitors measure ozone gas concentration in PPM (particles per million).
