UV WATER unit is a special UV-C system for water disinfection.

UV-C treatment is ideal for well water, pond, cistern, or any source that present traces of microbiological pollution (ie. Coliforms, Streptococcus, Escherichia C.) and other microorganisms of various types, like moulds, spores, etc.

In addition, it is ideal for water post-treatment, for example, downstream active carbon filtration systems. All micro-organisms are eliminated by UV-C irradiation in a safe and rapid way, even Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa are eliminated completely, despite they are usually complicated to be removed.

UV-C treatment is purely physical, and it allows you to get always the same effect with no harmful by-products, without affecting smell, taste, and water’s pH.

UV WATER maintains the natural and beneficial characteristics of the treated water as it does not affect the minerals naturally dissolved in it.

UV WATER is compatible with all other water treatment methods such as filtration, water softening, dechlorination with Activated Carbon.
In some cases, the law establishes the use of UV systems is mandatory, especially when water does not have any antimicrobial protection.

Installation is simple and can be performed by a common plumber.
Use and management of the system do not require special skills: the operations of ordinary maintenance and periodic replacement of the UV lamp (recommended every 9000 hours of use) can be performed without difficulty.

To select the right device you must consider water flow, but also its transparency to UV-C rays, defined as UV-T. UV-T should be around 95%, if not the system has to be oversized. Water passes through the stainless steel AISI 304L germicidal chamber, and it is irradiated by the lamp/lamps contained inside it.

UV-C lamps are inserted in a special quartz sleeve which guarantees water-tightness and is resistant to pressure up to 8 bars; in addition, it isolates also the lamp from thermal shocks.

Light Progress lamps emit a dose of germicidal energy lethal for all microorganisms and a special disks system (septa) on its design, causes high revolving turbulences and mix the water flow, allowing UV-C rays to reach the entire circulating liquid mass.
